Alibaba set us the task of creating four viral ads, for four different territories, in three weeks for their 11/11 sale bonanza. Initially we laughed, but soon realised this was no joke.
Dealing with the biggest e-commerce site on this planet, it was a challenge we couldn’t resist. Playing on the concept of everyone disappearing to attend the sale bonanza, we used four comical scenarios where our characters are left feeling dumbstruck.
This was shot over two days, using four actors, 60 extras and consuming large amounts of tea. Of course, this was accomplished and delivered on schedule. With the results surpassing all expectations, hitting millions of views and generating record sales for AliExpress.
